Files Fail to Upload or Download in Studio Because the Computer Clock is Incorrect

Files fail to upload or download in a Studio Session or Project, or the message displays, “Your system clock is not set to the correct time. Please update your system clock and try again.”

Problem
Documents in a Studio Session or Project fail to upload or download when the clock on your computer is incorrect and more than 15 minutes different than the clock on the Studio Server.
Studio Session Errors
Upload Error
An upload failure results in the error “Waiting Upload” which displays after the file name in white.
Download Error
A failed download results in both the file name and error “Download Failed” being displayed in red text.
Studio Project Errors
Uploading a File
When attempting to upload a file to a Studio Project, the upload will fail without displaying an error message.
Download Error
When trying to download a file from a Studio Project, an error message appears saying, “Your system clock is not set to the correct time. Please update your system clock and try again.”
Solution
The solution is to correct the time on your computer’s clock and then try to download or upload the files again.
Correcting the clock on Windows 10:
- Press or click the Start button.
- Type date and time, then click Change the date and time, System settings.
- Click Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically to On.
- Check to see that the time and time zone are correct for your current location.
- Close the Settings window.
Now that the time has been corrected, return to Revu.
Correcting the clock on Windows 8.1:
- Right-click on the Start button and click Control Panel.
- Type date and time in the search at the upper right on the Control Panel.
- Click Date and Time and the Date and Time dialog box will display.
- Check the Time zone to make sure it is your time zone. If it isn’t, click the Change time zone button, select the correct Time zone.
- Check the Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Savings Time check box.
- Click OK.
- Click the Change date and time button.
- Set the correct date and time and click OK.
- Click OK to close the Date and Time dialog box.
Now that the time has been corrected, return to Revu.
Correcting the clock on Windows 7:
- Click the time in the right corner of the Notification area of the Windows taskbar,
or click Start, type date and time and press Enter. - Click Change data and time settings. The Date and Time dialog box will display.
- Check the Time zone to make sure it is your time zone. If it isn’t, click the Change time zone button, select the correct Time zone in the drop-down list.
- Check the Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Savings Time check box.
- Click OK.
- Click the Change date and time button.
- Set the correct date and time and click OK.
- Click OK to close the Date and Time dialog box.
