Making Revu Mac Your Default PDF App

How to change the default PDF app to Revu Mac.


Problem

Your PDF documents open in Apple’s Preview app or another PDF application by default, when you really want them to open in Revu Mac.

Solution

You’ll need to follow the steps listed below to change the default PDF app from within Revu Mac Preferences or the Info window of a PDF file.

Set As Default App in Revu Mac Preferences

  1. Open Revu Mac Preferences. You can either:
    • Go to revu-icon > Settings > Preferences settings-32x32.

    -Or-

    • Select Revu > Preferences from the Menu Bar.

  2. Select General from the list on the left, and check Set As Default PDF Viewer.

Set as Default App from the Info Window

  1. Locate a PDF document on your hard drive, and click on it once so that the file name is highlighted. Don’t open it yet.

  2. 2. Open the Info window by either:
    • Pressing Command+I.

      -Or-

    • Right-clicking or Control-clicking the file and selecting Get Info.

  3. Select Revu from the dropdown menu in the Open with section.

  4. Click Change All to make sure Revu is set to open all PDF documents.
